Recovering from #Covid-19, Cameroonian lady speaks up.

Mireille Ghislaine Esso is a young Cameroonian woman/mother: intelligent, cultivated and structured. She is a professional, recognized by her peers.

On a daily basis, she is clean on herself and makes sure that she does not make any mistakes. And yet the Covid19 got to her. Here is the lady’s testimony.

” I make this note, to play down a little, so much we live in fear. We wash our hands dozens of times a day with hydro-alcoholic gels, like my boss. We choke on the inside of our mask, we are even afraid to look others in the eye. We think we’re all going to die. No. Dramatize first, because beyond the count of the dead, who in reality represent the smallest part of the people affected by the disease, because prone to complications, there is the majority, those who cure the symptoms experienced and even those who don’t feel it at all. Over 90%.

Then play down because fear paralyzes, makes people panic, prevents them from making the right decisions and impairs judgment. ”

Dramatize then because fear paralyzes, makes panic, prevents making the right decisions and impairs judgment.

Dramatize finally because you have to keep living, work (SMEs close but we don’t even talk about it), eat and even have babies …
If all the media started to talk every day about the number of deaths caused by malaria per day at home, we would certainly all live under mosquito nets!

In my opinion, let’s also prepare to have it since we have a hard time avoiding it.

And that’s what it’s for sharing your experience. Here’s mine.

Yes I was sick of the star of the moment and yes, I am cured ????.
I start to feel bad on March 18. Aches, severe headache, tiredness, which make me fall asleep on my desk, which happens very rarely. There follows a high fever. What I feel strongly resembles malaria or the flu. I shiver and I then decide to return.

What I feel strongly resembles a malaria or a flu. I shiver and I then decide to return. ”

I am taking efferalgan to lower my fever, which drops after about 30 minutes. But she will come back in episodes overnight.

In the meantime, I read a lot about covid19 and its symptoms. I tell myself that you can never be too careful. I decide to stay in isolation in my room. If this is the case, it is better to protect the children and if not, I would have lost nothing.

The same evening, since I think strongly about the flu, I boil, crushed ginger and garlic + cut lemons. Drink to which I add 1 spoon of honey before drinking. Very hot.
I have been drinking this drink for almost 5 days and my body is only asking for liquids. So hot corn porridge, lemongrass + lemon, fish broth, that’s what I was eating. I’m not very thick already so imagine a little!

Then one evening, I wanted to eat plantain fries and asked to have them. My older son came down and said to me, “I knew it was you”, I said “what? “, He said to me” the fries, the smell of which invades the house, don’t you smell? ”
I tell myself, we cooked again, leaving the door open and I said “heuuu, no”. It makes me tick all the same.

“The day before I read somewhere that if you lose your sense of smell, it makes the diagnosis of covid19 certain. ”

The day before I had read somewhere that if you lose your sense of smell, it makes the diagnosis of covid19 certain.
So I told myself that I will check. They brought my food back to me and I ran my nose over it, no smell. I asked my son to bring me some garlic, I put it under my nose, nothing. I took my perfume that I spray, nothing. I inhaled alcohol, no smell. It’s really very special.
And there, I realized that I, so sensitive to odours, it’s been several days since I complained about any smelling sense.
I said to myself, this is weird, it may be the covid19 (…).

So I decided to call 1510 the next day.
I called around 10am, ok we will call you back and a team will come to your house. I’m still waiting. But hey, let’s move on!
In the meantime, I still doubt, I told myself that they said “dry cough” and I have a cough.

I still started to wonder when I could have caught the virus and I think that the weekend before the 18th, I went to a cabaret, two restaurants, 3 supermarkets, the hairdresser… Just to to say that it could have been everywhere, so… let’s respect the barrier measures, it’s simpler ????.

Once I started to think I was sick, I started to feel pressure in the chest, like a weight, with slight pain. The strength of our thoughts on our physical state, you see?

Fatigue does not go away and the episodes of fever start again in a jagged fashion, to add to the hot flashes which they never left from the beginning. I started to get much better after 2 weeks. I no longer had any symptoms, except for the hot flashes and the cough, which also subsided.

Pr Ndjock prescribed me a chest scanner

I told myself that I still had to take the test to really know for sure. I called Pr Ndjock to find out if it was possible to take the test, explaining that I was still waiting for the 1510 team. He instead prescribed a chest scanner which I was able to do 3 days later and the result of which is the attached image For those who still doubted my age, here is the proof, we do not lie in the hospital!

The disease had regressed, I think, but was still 25%, more than two weeks after the first symptoms. Still small lesions which I think will disappear over the days. In any case, my hot flashes are gone, the virus too obviously, since it is automatically rejected by the body after 21 days according to the doctors.

My advice: listen to your body. If you feel bad, give him what he wants.

I wouldn’t say that’s why I was able to heal, but my general state of health was, I think, more or less correct, which allowed me to defend myself well. I have also been in a rather positive psychological state and this is also important.

We cry for those who have been less fortunate. For my part, two wonderful people, my tata Désirée Epee, and my brother Jean Bernard Onguene.

Let the endless light shine on you. But as I said above, let’s prepare ourselves rather to have it because obviously we have a lot of trouble avoiding it. Nevertheless, let’s respect the barrier measures to continue to protect those at risk.”
