Here is the cheapest Cameroonian region to live in.

In the first nine months of 2019, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) has as report that the general level of consumer prices for households rose to 2.5%.

According to the same source, this upward trend, following the rise in food prices, was observed in all the major cities of the country, with the exception of Maroua, the capital of the Far North region. .

In fact, between January and September 2019, consumer prices fell by 0.1% instead of an increase of 1.7% over the same period in 2018. The INS does not reveal the cause of this price fall.

However, an analysis of the figures revealed by this institute clearly shows that in the whole of the Cameroonian territory, the three northern regions were the least exposed to inflationary pressures during the period under review.

Indeed, while Maroua (regional capital of the Far North) shows a decline in inflation, Garoua (+ 1.6%), the regional capital of the North, and Ngaoundéré (2%), the capital of the Adamawa region, shows the lowest price increases, according to the INS report.
